How preparation works
One continuous cycle, from blank page to panel-ready evidence
Preparation fails when it stays abstract. PanelPrep · IO turns it into a sequence you can finish: choose the competency, answer the question, read the assessment, and return with a stronger version of the same story.

- 01
Start from the vacancy, not a blank page
Paste the announcement or enter the UN job ID. The application analyses it and builds the interview from it: 10 questions (+2 optional) mapped to the competencies in the framework, with the behavioural indicators panellists actually mark against.
- 02
Answer the question a panel would really ask
Questions are drawn from competency-based interviews and tailored to the vacancy you are preparing for — phrased the way a chair phrases them, not the way a blog summarises them.
- 03
Build the story in Situation, Task, Action, Result
The editor separates the four parts of a STAR answer so you can see where your example is thin: usually the result, occasionally your own action inside a team effort.
- 04
Read the assessment, line by line
Each answer is scored on structure, evidence, clarity and the behaviour demonstrated, with strengths, weaknesses and a rewritten version you can compare against your own wording.
- 05
STAR scenarios created are saved and sorted by competency
Every scored answer becomes a reusable scenario in your bank, grouped by competency. Revisit your best examples, refine weak ones, and walk into the panel with evidence you have already practised.
